Social capitalist Matt Murray spent his summers as a kid sitting on Adirondack chairs by lakes in the Adirondack Mountains near his grandmother's home in New York.
Years later, on a restless Saturday, he built one from wood he had been saving for just that purpose.
He found a pallet, threw it in his car, and used it to build the chair. Then, it occurred to him -- what if he got others to do the same thing? How many forests could he help save?
Scraparondacks.org was born.
Welcome to Scraparondacks.org: where trash becomes a bird house, an Adirondack chair, and whole bunch of smiles.
Oh... and it makes for a lot of happy trees.
